CMEAS UK Autumn 2007 Tour Preview

The autumnal equinox has passed, the leaves are beginning to turn brown and the skies are already grey. That can only mean one thing. It's almost time for the annual CMEA's October Tour. Now in its 6th year, this one gets underway on Thursday 11th October and ends on Sunday 28th of October (for further details visit >www.cmeas.com). With venues from the West of Scotland, down through Cumbria and Lancashire, then on to Wales and the West Country, they travel the length, if not the breadth, of the UK to bring you top quality live music that you would otherwise have to fly across several time zones to hear.

As has become our want, we have again undertaken a pre-tour preview of the artists involved. And again we are happy to report that standards are still as high as we have not only come to expect, but demand from this venture. It features three acts who have made their way across the Atlantic to be with us, so the very least you can do is let them entertain you. If you don't support live music when you have the chance, then one day in the future you may well find your children asking, "Tell me what it was like when you could see people perform music live". Now, is that really something you want to have on your conscience?

This New York band bring together elements of soul, reggae and rock to create a funky sound that will compel your toes to tap, your feet to move and your body to shake. In the face of such a musical onslaught those of us you can't dance may well find we are unable to resist embarrassing ourselves, but at least we'll be having a good time doing it.

From Washington DC comes a duo with a surprisingly full bodied sound from just drums and guitar. Curly's soulful voice and her precision drumming unite to create the perfect match for The Rocket's searing, and often pyrotechnic, guitar paying. The result is some fantastic rock music with style to spare. And if their live performances match up to their studio output we could be in for a real treat.
