Feeling kinda bluesy. Feeling kinda jazzy. Not really sure what you want to listen to? This CD could be what you are looking for.

Cannot remember why I actually bought this as I don't normally look at anything filed under the jazz category. It was a worthwhile purchase for sure. Clocking in at under 25 minutes and with only 6 tracks, Anya Singleton leaves you wanting more. Equally at home with standards like "The Nearness of You" and her own compositions ("One Trick Pony" is the standout track for me), she oozes confidence. The backing band also impressed, especially Michael Aarons on guitar and Ron Ozwanski on organ.

Whilst most jazz vocalists these days are so smooth they slide straight by you, Anya retains enough rough edges to hold your interest. In fact, this CD has been on heavy rotation on the CD player for the last month. That's recommendation enough.
