A bargain buy which is worth tracking down as it has some excellent tracks which will make a worthwhile addition to your MP3 player.  Confusingly, not only does there appear to be no Simon Stringer in the band, but the lead singer is female - and is undoubtedly at her best when "giving it laldy"

At times this is a bit like Siouxsie Sioux meets Gwen Stefani/No Doubt, with a touch of Debbie Harry (and lets be honest, being touched by Debbie Harry is never a bad thing!).   Best tracks are the two openers, "French Connection" and "Madame X", with vocalist Alicia Pearson exuding sultriness beyond the call of duty over a solid, pulsating backing from the rest of the band.  "The Future Will Blow Your Mind" is in a similar vein, and the more restrained and haunting "Let Me Burn" is one of those songs that seems to gradually grow on you over time.

At times this does come across as an album of A & B sides, however it's definitely worth getting for the particularly strong 'A sides'.

NB "Giving it laldy" - doing something vigorously or enthusiastically.
