Vinyl Floor - Thomas Charlie Pedersen Daniel Pedersen – are no strangers to melody and their new album “Balancing Act” certainly does not lack with regard to their well regarded area of musical expertise.

Old fashioned values, or at least those related to matters musical, decorate this album with these thirteen songs showing a concern for things like harmony and melody that is so often trivialised, or simply forgotten, in the plastic world that is today and, to that end, there will be those whose memory of the sugar coated past is stronger than their affinity for today who will find that matters regarded as retro will be brought once more to life and sonic satisfaction by songs like “I’m On The Upside” and “The Helping Hand.” It may somewhat amplify my affection for songs that make you want to singalong to state that the sounds brought forth by the brothers Pedersen suggest that they have deservedly taken the heritage path previously walked by the Kinks and even R.E.M.

“Balancing Act” is an album to warm to. Those components of lasting musical satisfaction are surely present and correct and, framed with solid musical ability and a certain metaphorical lyrical quality, Vinyl Floor present enough evidence to secure a conviction on the charge of being interesting.
