As I recall there is an acronym out there called K.I.S.S. Keep it simple, stupid and you don’t get much simpler than Amy Beth and Thee Creeps and their EP “Shitheel”. In the interests of clarity and because the world will soon be flat, there are a mere four songs on this EP and the longest lasts 96 seconds. Now that is truly keeping it simple.

Not a band to waste time and effort on niceties like subtlety, variety and introspection, Amy Beth and Thee Creeps crank up the pace and the volume to deliver these four skull crushing songs with enough focus and energy to jump start an F350 truck in the deep midwinter. In a moment of insanity caused no doubt by overexposure to this band’s particular variety of punk flavoured thrash, I even thought I heard some existential lyrics in there but, shortly thereafter, the urge to consume vast quantities of beer overcame me so that may just have been a hallucination.

Bad attitude is where it is at and Amy Beth and Thee Creeps have plenty of that attitude. They would undoubtedly be a band best appreciated live in a sweaty cellar but, for now, the next best thing is their EP “Shitheel” with a side order of some truly excessive volume. That course of action will, my friends, get your heart going and leave you wanting more.

Available from Bandcamp.
