This music on this album is an appealing mix of country and western swing. It starts off with some couple of fairly leaden performances on"Take Me to the Country" and "Last 48 Hours". Things pick up noticeably with a fine, spirited version of "Double Cross Shuffle". "Just for Now" features a particularly fine vocal performance from Marilisa. Highpoints are the bouncy "Ever Since I Metcha", the bluesy "Marfa Lights" and a charming cover of "It's Alright".
Particular credit must be given to the fine guitar work from Papa Mali and Cindy Cashdollar.
BluesBunny likes a bit of country ever now and then (just like he wants to swap the Dodge Monaco for a pickup truck occasionally). This will satisfy his appetites nicely.
