Cara Robinson's voice puts BluesBunny in mind of a cross between sixties icon Julie Driscoll and Corrine Drewery (of Swing Out Sister fame). The album features 11 tracks all co-written by Ms Robinson.

Nicely produced by Joe Tatton and Ms Robinson, her voice works best on the slower numbers such as the tender "No Love Child". "Carry Me Away" is an atmospheric and commercial track with some excellent keyboard work from Joe Tatton. The album ends with a brief - indeed unexpected - burst of delta blues in "Durbin's Slide. No problem with the musicianship on the album with the sympathetic drumming of Andy Marshall being of particular merit.

In conclusion, this album makes pleasant listening but just lacks a bit of the special magic that would make it essential.
