You can never have too much indie rock it would seem even if you never wanted that much in the first place. Leeds based band Little Victories are firmly in the indie rock groove – for the present - but at least they haven’t lost their sense of humour and there are hints that they may have heard a Buzzcocks records sometime in their past.

In their favour, Calvin King works hard to keep the musical interest up with his guitar nicely decorating the otherwise straight to the point “Nation’s Stimulation”. “The Charm” again suggests a visit to the past was in this band’s recent agenda for change and the lessons learnt find their way into a smarter than average lyric even if the song itself springs no surprises.

There’s hope for Little Victories given the evidence presented here although they might need to kick the limitations of the indie rock genre out of the way before they realise their true potential.
