If I told you that I was writing about another neo-country song, I wouldn't blame you for slapping me in the face. However, this is no ordinary country song and Horatio Lee Jenkins is no ordinary country artist.
Just as with Mojo Nixon's "Are You Drinkin' with Me Jesus", "Drunken than Satan" deals with addressing your spiritual betters in the bar room arena. Our new hero, Horatio Lee Jenkins, out-drinks and roundly humiliates Satan, who becomes a pathetic, drunken wreck.
With this song should come a warning, however. This song is not for devil worshippers, as it may cause offend those who believe in one omnipotent and everlasting horned god.
It takes a hell of a man to drink the devil under the table, let alone go public with your success, so raise your glass to Horatio!
