2008

You know a bit of class when you hear it. This song from the Green Peppers - the solo project of Jim McCulloch (Soup Dragons, Superstar) - is one such song.

It's got that whole summer-of-69 Californian feel to it and is just ideally suited to the kind of summer that we all wish we had here in Scotland. You now, sunshine and stuff. Sandra Belda's vocals evoke memories of the Mamas and the Papas and Buffy St Marie. In other words, it's a laidback, catchy listen that easily worms its way into your affections.

In a musical world increasingly inhabited by dull, angst ridden songs, this musical souffle is a refreshment to the ears. Play it from now until the winter blues set in.
