Bluesbunny likes this. It took a few plays to get under the skin but that is a sign of true substance. Too much music these days is superficially pleasing but is soon forgotten.

First thoughts were of yet another singer songwriter based in California. The CD had the feel of recent Shelby Lynne releases (not a bad thing!) but with a harder, rockier edge. However, a few more plays highlighted her individual style.

Her music might well be described as a rather aggressive version of the new country genre. Sort of Wynonna Judd without the sugar but with plenty of spice. It is a very commercial, radio friendly sound but the lyrics distinguish it from the crowd. The vocals are appealing and are particularly effective on the slower tracks such as "My Bones", "Trading on 15" and "Leaving the Life". Bluesbunny looks forward to hearing more from her. The album is available from CD Baby.
