This woman has the ability of to sing the most tender of ballads, yet also has the voice to belt out a song that can strip the paint from an entire factory never mind a wall.  Featuring as it does Dr John as producer this third release from Shemekia is an intriguing proposition, however you can rest assured that the good Doctor uses his considerable experience to excellent effect throughout.

As we have now come to expect from a Shemekia Copeland album, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to picking the highlights.  Pick of the bunch are the up tempo rock influenced "Two's A Crowd"; a fine soulful ballad in "Don't Whisper", and the organ led sound (supplied by Dr John himself) of "Walk On".  It all finally comes to a close with an absolutely storming version of "Pie in the Sky".  It does somewhat lack the rawness of its predecessors; however that aside it is another fine outing from Alligator's, and the blues, rising star.
