I remember an album from a few years ago called “Karamelién” by an English singer called Léanie Kaleido. Like so many, there was never a follow up, or perhaps not one that I ever heard about, but she has now returned with a sweet and sentimental song called “Little Star”.
In support of a good cause – the Think Twice charity – “Little Star” is the perfect reminder of Ms Kaleido’s ethereal, folky style. The song, in spite of its obvious sentimentality, manages to be both fluffy and dark at the same time with her voice floating above the sparse backing track.
“Little Star” is the kind of song that seems timeless. It is independent of fashion and trends and, with very little fuss, just works in the nicest possible way.
