The LA Bluescasters have put together some solid, old fashioned down and dirty blues.  With guitar at the forefront of the solid backing being provided by the rhythm section, and harmonica and keyboards making their presence felt when the need arises, they have created a solid foundation on which to showcase their songs.

We open with a couple of great up beat tracks in "See You In The Morning" and "Never Let Her Down", both of which show off their tight knit sound to good effect.  "Top Heavy" is in more of a party swing style in a Little Charlie and the Nightcats or Roomful of Blues sort of way; "Someday" is a slower-paced stripped to the bones type of song and is real standout track, and with "Never Come Back Again" we come to a rocking finale.

Perhaps this isn't the most innovate blues you will ever hear, on the other hand it is the sort of honest, no frills blues that seems to be increasingly difficult to find.  And for that they should be applauded. The CD is available online from CD Baby.
